On the occasion of the Polish Patient Day in Sleeping, we invite you to a unique event that will open a series of meetings with the greatest minds in the field of brain and coma research. An online meeting in English with Professor Steven Laureys will take place on April 18 at 20:00. Translation of the meeting into Polish will be available from April 19th.
The meeting will be led by Kasia Kasica - Coordinator of Scientific and Research Projects of the "Akogo?" Foundation. and Professor UR, dr hab. Jacek Szczygielski - neurosurgeon cooperating with the "Akogomed" consulting clinic.
The meeting is aimed at all people interested in brain research, consciousness and coma.

Professor Dr. Steven Laureys is an award-winning, world-renowned neurologist, popularizer of brain science and best-selling author.
For over 25 years he has been conducting ground-breaking research on human consciousness.
Dr. Laureys is working with the translator of the Dalai Lama, Matthieu Ricard, to scientifically prove the positive effects of meditation on our brains.

Prof. Dr. Steven Laureys, MD Ph.D. FEAN is the founding director of the "GIGA Consciousness Research Unit" (2014) at the University of Liège in Belgium and a professor at the CERVO Brain Research Center at Laval University in Canada, where he currently lives.
It examines the human mind in health and disease using the latest brain scans and technologies: meditation, near-death experiences, concussion, coma, anesthesia, hypnosis, trance and dream-like states.
Dr. Laureys is the former president of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness and the founder of the World Federation of Neurology research group on consciousness disorders. Dr. Laureys has been Research Director of the Belgian National Research Fund since 2012.
