The Newest Achievements in Diagnostics and Treatment of Coma- November 21, 2015
The International Scientific Conference titled “The Newest Achievements in Diagnostics and Treatment of Coma,” was attended by many great lecturers among whom were professors from Japan, Germany, Belgium and Poland. It was organized by “Akogo?” Foundation on November 21, 2015 in Radisson Blu Sobieski Hotel. The conference was hosted by Iwona Schymalla and the amount of participants was over 400.
Prof. Wojciech Maksymowicz from USK in Olsztyn opened the conference with the lecture concerning the sense of multimodal support in recovering consciousness and possibilities of helping people in coma.
Mrs. Anna Duszyk presented the lecture by Prof. Steven Laureys (Cyclotron Research Centre and Neurology Department of the University Hospital of Liège, Belgium), which concerned works on the newest diagnostic methods among people with impaired consciousness.
Lecturers from Japan, Prof. Tetsuo Kanno and Prof. Isao Morita, presented methods of treatment of patients in coma using the stimulation of posterior funiculus.
Last but not least, Prof. Benedikt Berninger from Germany (Physiological Chemistry Institute at the University Medical Center of the Mainz University) presented results of his research on shaping and reprograming brain of an adult human.
We hope that the result of the conference will be establishing research and medical international cooperation in order to make the newest technologies available for patients in coma to contribute to the betterment of their lives.
