Books without a prescription
Yesterday, Mieszko and his parents came to the "Alarm Clock" Clinic for adults and donated three boxes of books!
A young man contacted us – Mieszko. Last year, as part of the "Freed from Theory" competition, he and his team completed a project to collect and donate books to hospitals.
Together with his close-knit and proven team (high school and university students), they are currently implementing the second edition of the "Books Without a Prescription" project. The project aims to collect books and donate them to selected hospitals across Poland.
They collect new books, in perfect and very good condition, for children and adults. They also receive books from publishers. They thoroughly review all collected books, and only those in perfect condition are delivered to hospitals. They decided to continue this project because the schools (over 50) and hospitals they work with have requested to repeat the campaign. In the first edition, they managed to collect over 24,000 books, which they donated to 70 hospitals (at least three in each voivodeship). We would like to thank them for the wonderful initiative and the books they donated to our patients and their families!
